Traumatic, Sudden Loss

I have started this group for people who like myself have suddenly, tragically and traumatically lost a loved one.

My mom died 8 weeks ago (August 17, 2009) She had been sick but I did not know the true extent of her illness. Her doctor knew she did not have long and I went to each doctor visit and talked to him at the hospital and he never told me and I do not believe mom knew either. I am not sure.

I found my mom sitting up on her bed and I know I knew she was gone. I still am in deep shock and cry occasionally but only a minute or two. Then I am back to not feeling or feel numb.

Hello everyone I joined Grief support today. On my page I shared the passing of Heather My 19 yr. old Daughter. She passed away on Oct. 10th 2010 in the US 23 highway car accident near Okemos, MI I miss Heather so much, She was my best friend and a blessed gift to my husband and I. Brenda, I am so sorry.  Losing a loved one is extraordinarily difficult especially during this time of the year.  I pray that God will comfort and guide you now and always...   Kandi

Hey everyone. My husband had a heart attack and died November 20th. I am just reaching out because I miss him and I am incredibly sad.

Hi Anna; it went well. I hosted thanksgiving and had my daughters birthday yesterday. The days leading to it all were overwhelming. Having to get the house ready, shopping etc was hard gievn that I wasn't in a celebratory mood at all. None the less; it all went smoothly. My sister (bless her heart) did all the cooking, my daughter was kept occupied by numerous friends and my brother helped with some of the cleaning. I'm glad I hosted it. My family knows I would want to lock myself in a dark room for months so they are trying their best to help me out. Thanks very much for your thoughts and prayers.

My mom died 4 months ago

My mom had pulmonary fibrosis. She was sick for a few years. It was funny how when my grandmother smoked, my mom would always say-I’m gonna die from second hand smoke. My mom never smoked.
