"Healing after Loss" explains to us that for many, there is the guilt of the survivor.  The one who can't understand why they were spared and then given the dynamic task of dealing with the horrendous grief.  In this meditation we are asked to turn and look through another lens - certainly not in a triumphant or over confident kind of way, but a simple nod that indicates we have come through the storm of grief and anguish.  And instead of emptiness and hopelessness, we can transform our lives into a productive existence.

Remember we have gone into the eye of the storm and not been destroyed.  Instead we have been reborn.  You see when we lost our loved one, we died a little too.  We lost the expectations or hope of a future together.  And yet in spite of the devastating disappointments of what won't be....we have been lifted.

When we encounter someone who has shared in that grief we stand together in the fellowship of those reborn out of grief, all are sisters and brothers!

Some days I’m perfectly fine, but others I can’t walk down the street without crying. I keep thinking that I haven’t talked to her in a while & I…See More
