About my Loss:
Caregiver for my father, he had a triple bypass & valve replacement. The surgery was a success and he was doing well, other than fluid build up. Which was taken care of in icu. He was discharged to a rehabilitation center, where we were told had its own icu & were told he would have around the clock support. They failed miserably! Did not have him placed in the hospital part of the rehabilitation specialty hospital. I called for an ambulance & was told i would have to sign an AMA to get him. The ambulance wouldn’t transport unless the doctor signed him out to another doctor. I needed him to go to the hospital. The day i believe he passed away he was complaining of pain & having trouble breathing. They treated him horribly, i was so shaken up i had to get him out of there. I left because my sister was coming so i could get him moved. Mind you this happened, his mistreatment when he entered on a Friday night around 10 pm & by Monday after i called after my visit & had a new place to move him the following day. At 10 pm i was told he was resting and had his leg kicked up over the rail. He could not physically sleep like that, nor did he due to major back problems and weak legs, the reason he went there in the first place for rehabilitation to gain strength. Within 45 mins i got a call saying he flatlined & they were running a code. I believe in my heart he wasn’t checked on until after my call. I raced up there 5 mins away & i knew he was already gone, but they were trying to “get him back” completely to cover their responsibilities to treat him. I am so Angry!!!!
