Sibling Loss

This group is for anyone that has lost a brother or sister. Sibling loss is often minimized and people don't realize how devastating losing a sibling can be. I lost my older sister and my life will never be the same. She was my only sibling, I looked up to her, I went to her for everything. I lost my past, present and future. It is traumatic.See More

"Hi Erin I'm so sorry for your loss. It is, I am sure, very raw as it is very early days still. When I lost my sister, I read somewhere that when you lose a sibling, you lose your past and your future. Your sibling is the one that knew…"

Profile Information

About my Loss:
Lost my older sister in 2009 to complications during childbirth. She never even got to meet her first born. A beautiful boy, who is my heartbeat. We were exceptionally close, spent loads of time together. Of course, fought like only sisters can, but friendship was always quickly restored. Miss her immensely.

Hi Nicky,
Thank you for replying to my post & for giving me hope that this intense pain will not last forever & that one day I will learn to feel joy again. I am taking each day slowly; doing normal things & crying when I have to. My sister leaves behind 2 beautiful children ( a 4 year old & a 10 year old) so I have to be strong for them. I know she wouldn't want me to feel like this forever because she loved me as I loved her so I shall try & be kind, reach out to those who have suffered loss & hopefully will learn to adapt ... I hope

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
