About Me:
My name is Collette. I am 21 years old. I am currently attending the University of Phoenix online pursuing an associate's degree in Human Services Management. I am currently unemployed. I love listening to music, shopping, the internet, reading, and spending time with my family, especially my 5 year old neice.
About my Loss:
I have two losses. Five years ago on May 10th, 2005 I lost my mom. She had a routine hysterectomy and ended up have a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs). She passed away in our house in front of my father, sister, and myself.

Next, on April 16th of this year, I lost my boyfriend in a very sudden car crash. He died instantly when he collided with a delievery box truck. I drove up onto the accident and was the one to provide indentification. I was actually supposed to be in the car with him that morning, but I ended up leaving an hour after he did with a friend. He has only been gone for a little over two months. I loved this man more than anything in the world.

Having a very hard time

I lost my mother five years ago and the most recent, and main reason for joining this community, I lost the love of my life and best friend, my boyfriend, Brian. This happen on April 16th of this year so it's only been a little over two months. He hit head-on a delivery box truck and flipped over several times. He died on impact, which helps a little bit because I know he didn't suffer or experience any pain. Still, I'm having a… Continue

Collette I lost 4 people in recent years . My grandmother, Aunt, Dad and Mom. So I know the pain and anguish you feel. I have lived it. I would like to reach out to you and share and be a caring compassionate good friend. I am a Christian and I know helping others has always been something I do. But I read your story and it touched me. I am so very sorry. I am here to share, John

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
