Hello,

I am really needing to hear what people who are religious cope with the loss of a loved one (unexpectedly). I believe in God but my fiancee was a Christian and was going to start volunteering at the church again.

Days after that he was gone.

Trying to grasp in my own puny way why

Kathy,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The pain of death is so hard that it really can't be put into words. And there is nothing that anyone can say to take that pain away.

Sometimes though, things can bring comfort. This can help us along the way. Even though the pain is still present, we can at least have HOPE.

Also, understanding questions about death can help. For example: Why do we die?

Just getting a full understanding of why that happens can be comforting.

Please follow the link below.

Why Do People Die?

You might find the answer surprising. What the Bible REALLY teaches about why we die, what happens when we die, and what is the hope for our dead loved ones is different from what most of us have been taught all of our lives. The TRUTH about these things can be very comforting.

I hope that somehow I can just offer some comfort. What you are going through can be so very hard, and I just like to share the things that comfort me.

Let me know if I can do anything else to help.

Dennis

What a tragedy for you and your families, I am so sorry.

I am a Christian, too, and I think we will spend much time contemplating 'why'.  Death comes to everybody, and being Christian's doesn't make us inhuman.  We too, will die.

My baby son died...he was only 2 months old.  Why?  I don't know.  Your sweetheart died.  Why?  Is it even for us to know?  We have to believe we are connected in spirit and we will see our loved ones again in our own death.  This is not the end for any of us.  I wish I had something more comforting but know that you are not alone in questioning 'why'.

Thanks very much Wyatt's mom
