Words You'll Never Hear. Love, Mama *by Stephanie Stone-Merrick*

What's to say when all is lost, when the words don't matter now

yet I find myself in constant need to spit them out somehow

struggling to convey to you although the moment's passed

to heed the words we spoke to you, but now the dye is cast

Days tick by, a silent count thrust upon my heart

one by one they pass me by, whisking me beyond and far

never leaving me time to breathe I beg time "slow down for me"

as though I had but whispered, it marches on despite my desperate plea

Colors linger in your memories, taking my breath away

pouring forth and wrapping me in the love you freely gave

sealing you to my soul, with a rainbow's pastel sheen

I look for light in what is left, and all that might have been

I cry and laugh, as I remember you and wish with all my soul

what once had been was still what is and not beyond my control

I listen for your echo, closing my eyes to conjure your smile

where once I had but to reach for you, I'll now wait awhile

Shining and loud you lived your life, and moments are now memories

I can't wait to hold you close and walk with you right next to me

it's burns me and yes, angers me-no chance to say goodbye

but when we meet and hug again, there'll be no need to cry

She died from lung disease. Ironic.I was fine at the funeral. Planning. Talking to everyone. I thought u handled it great. Now 4 months later, I’m a mess. Some days I’m perfectly fine, but others I can’t walk down the street without crying. I keep thinking that I haven’t talked to her in a while & I…See More
