Today was one of the final court hearings for my son's death in 2012. An inattentive driver, with a long history of drug use and violence ran him over. The DA suspected she did not want to stop and try to beat him across. She killed him while he was driving fully in his own lane...she ran him over in her attempt to make a hasty left turn. She had no insurance, third time cited for this despite it being mandatory in our state. Cops that showed up on the scene were too dumb to give her a full drug screen despite her documented lengthy history of drug use.

She ran away for part of the trial, it was until I mounted my own search efforts and contacted a neighboring county's sheriff dept I got any result. She was months on the run.

Then the trial. Months of having her a##HOLE attorney try to make us into the bad guy. Took hiring the very best-of-the-best accident reconstructionist to pull that ass off of us.

So many lies...

The last trial date, we had her token apology, "OH I would do anything to bring your son back..."

Today, the last date, for restitution, she absconded. Don't know where she is again. Her attorney didn't miss a beat. Even with his client on the run, still taking us to the whipping posts on why we don't deserved restitution, if he had it his way, we wouldn't be getting anything formally. Of course the girl will never pay. She will live her shadowy lifestyle avoiding her dues to society. In the meantime, everytime she gets caught in her evil acts, the taxpayers are funding for a full defense to attacking the innocent victim. What a crazy messed up system we have.

The judge did not give her prison time for negligent driving or allow for full restitution of expenses which were about $25,000.

I talk to no one about this except my immediate family because of the idiotic responses I have received. Church people were the worse for giving out advice that I know they themselves would never follow. (They could up with a lot of saintly advice they think you should be doing, but get angry and demanding over very small offenses in their own life. Only works one way I guess.) Every day I -- and my family --live in purgatory and pray one day, it will end.

My son followed God, had a simple faith, acted in goodness towards others, always. We have been thrown away..discarded...while evil doers get their full ticket.

I pray that there is a greater, gentler reality, that one day I will live out what we were denied here, in this place...my own place with my two sons...I sometimes get glimpses...and I do not want to come back.

Defense attorneys like hers apparently have no conscience.  How could they rest at night after spending a day beating up on the victims family?  So sorry for your loss!  There is a greater, gentler reality coming. I am so looking forward to the fulfillment of this promise,   "For evil men (and women!) will be done away with. But those hoping in God will possess the earth. (verse 29) The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it."--Psalm 37:9, 29. Sending you a hug...

My mom died 4 months ago

My mom had pulmonary fibrosis. She was sick for a few years. It was funny how when my grandmother smoked, my mom would always say-I’m gonna die from second hand smoke. My mom never smoked. She died from lung disease. Ironic.I was fine at the funeral. Planning. Talking to everyone. I thought u handled it great. Now 4 months later, I’m a mess. Some days I’m perfectly fine, but others I can’t walk down the street without crying. I keep thinking that I haven’t talked to her in a while & I…See More
