Letter to my brother

Today your oldest starts pre-school. The baby starts VPK today as well. They have their matching book bags and lunch boxes. We've met the teachers and they are both very excited. I will take their pictures before they head out on the first of many journeys so we can preserve this moment. I will then sit in my car and cry like I did last year when the oldest started VPK. If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression.
