Hi Pamela,

So sorry for your loss, I lost my wonderful Husband three years this May 5 and the pain is still there, I think it will always be for most of us who had a great marriage. God Bless You.

Pamela,

I understand just how you feel.  I l feel the same after 104 days without my husband.  I ask God why he didn't take me with my husband.  But it does get better.  It's been three days that I have not awakened in tears.  That has to be a sign I'm healing. If I had to feel this INTENSE Grief for the rest of my life, however long, I couldn't stand it. I loved him and he loved me.  It's unbearable to think of the rest of my life without him, so you have to think of other things.  It's been a week.  After a week I was still in shock.  I think you will get worse before you get better.  Hang on.  By the way, I still can't speak of him without tearing up.  I can't have his ashes spread just yet.   God bless us all.

Pamela,

Many of us here, including me, understand. I feel as you do. (((((hugs)))))

We here have felt

- It is excruciating to live with the waking pain and disorienting the way that every day has been subtly but certainly transformed into a nightmarish experience of living in Hell

- without our beloved other, whose presence was integral to our life's purpose, whether we even believed in such things before losing them.

- witness to each other in bewildering and even resented survival, redefined by a pain understood by no one else... In the early days, it's as if one has been blown off the Earth by the shattering impact of the unthinkable finality...

I send you much love, even knowing you may not be able to really receive this love, I wholeheartedly offer it to you.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
