I found that venting some of the stupid things people say with others that hear them as well helped me with some of the frustration. We know they mean well but, Dont you just want to scream sometimes..... So lets Vent - Go for It..... Lets hear them----

I love this poem or whatever it is.  It says exactly how I feel and what I want to say to others

I actually had one person from the church I attend think that somehow this was some kind of a ministry opportunity to the woman who ran over my son. Like I was supposed to see some kind of silver lining. In the meantime, this woman has six living children. I have two dead sons. One infant and one at 28.

or the other bullshit of having someone hand you a book on forgiveness. My son laid dying in that ditch because of that bitch's continued irresponsible behavior. We also found out she was a meth head later. And the dumb ass sheriff dept. did not do a drug screen on her, one quick search on the legal records (which are public in my state) revealed what a long time loser she was.

I think I would spit on her in her jail cell if I could.

Ok, I have been sitting here trying to figure out what this lady from your church was thinking. Surly the lady that ran over your son truly needs ministering to . . .  But just as surly please tell me, she didn't mean that this is now "your" ministry??? I understand your anger, but not even God forgives without genuine repentance and works that befit repentance. . .  Has she begged your forgiveness? Has she stopped doing drugs etc. that was the underlining cause of your son's death? Repentance marks a halt in the person’s wrong course, the rejection of that wrong way, and the determination to take a right course.
This woman is responsible for her own repentance. You nor anyone else can "get through" to her if she is not begging forgiveness and showing that her repentance is not just sorrow over being caught. A requirement of forgiveness is works that befit forgiveness. She has to be moved from her own heart to turn around from her past course and never to return to her former course of action. Her repentance is not your responsibility.

I think the reason people say such hurtful things is because they don't think before they open their mouth.

People often say stupid things because they don't know what to say. I actually had someone send my sons obituary in the mail to me inside a sympathy card LIKE I DIDNT KNOW! Everytime I see that women I want to tell her not to ever do that again!

When my own mother called and told me "it was for the best" it was like a knife cut out what is left of my heart. I know she didn't mean to hurt me, but it made me so angry. I actually yelled at my mother.

i dont no wear 2 post it on hear or ot not i got told 2 get over it irs slf  pitty get over all my losses

dont no how im gona get over all my losses dont no how any of us can get over it

"Why didn't you have more children?"  Months after I lost my only child, my beautiful Caitlin.

Wow! Patty, that is the most STUPID and MEAN comment ever! I hope no one ever says that to me because I'm sure I won't be able to hold myself back from returning meanness back!

Cindy, I was actually asked that at least 3 times.  It was really hard to believe that people would say such a thing at the most terrible time of my life.  It shocked me so much I didn't know what to say.

"i understand your pain"---and either they don't have any children of their own or their children are safe and sound.  *sigh

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
