Do you ever feel like you need to cry but can't? Sometimes I get this heaviness in my chest(not pain) when I want/need to cry but it won't come out. I'm not very patient and I try to force it out which seems to make the tears retreat. I also have a hard time letting those tears out in front of others, even though I am comfortable with them. I learned every trick in the book to suck those tears back if I felt they were close, now I'm trying to reverse that damage. I heard "suck it up" or "get over it" for so many years growing up.

I know this sounds weird but someone please help me cry.

Thanks for your response. Sometimes listening to music does open up the floodgates. Yes, I cry when I'm driving alone too. Like you said, lots of time to think. When I am in a public place and those feelings overpower the fear of crying in public, then they seem to flow freely. It's just getting through that wall which I wish would come down!
Wow....that is great and describes very much how I feel. I think my walls are coming down finally.
I feel the same wayand hurts me so much I truly. Don't know what to do know. I feel like am in an island with no one around woo much he pain keeps on tooth never stoping and yet I can't let it out with tears
