I think I speak for everyone here when I say that losing our mom's is the worst thing that's ever happened to us. Still, there's gotta be ways we can cope.

What do you do? Work? Watch TV? Exercise? Surround oneself with friends?

I do a lot of that, and play stuff like World of Warcraft as well.

What about all of you?

I go to counseling, use homeopathic medicines to help with my depression, I use this online support group, I use my Facebook contacts, friends, just try and keep busy so I don't dwell on it.

I go to individual therapy twice a month, and see the psych twice a month. I watch tv a lot and spend a lot of time on facebook!

I am disabled and no longer work, and have no family so for me it gets pretty lonely, i visit with friends once a week or so, and facebook helps, i watch tv, sell things on ebay, work on a hobby i have, and still i have bouts of depression and nothing seems help that, thankfully it's not all the time. talking with folks on this site has also helped me quite a bit., i just try to take each day as they come, i know the holidays will be rough, but i hope to be with friends for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I'm housebound/bedbound with an illness myself so it's imposible to be active. I'm working on my F rench and try and speak with french pals once a day to practice. I watch TV, do FB and fundraise for ME research and of course my family, my sisters and little niece are around at times. But nothing takes the pain away. I love buying dresses online and used to always ask mum's advice b4 i bought anything. Now without her here i get tearful everytime i do internet shopping. I just keep telling myself that mum wld want me to carry on as b4 and try and look my best.

Simin; sorry for your loss and sorry you are bedbound.  What is ME?  I am not familiar with it?

Thank you Mary. ME is myalgic encephalomyelitis. I got a mono like virus while i was at uni finishing my post grad and as i didin't want to rest it developed into a chronic condition. Here in UK ME is also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
