Hi. I am Wes...

I am the last of my immediate family. (I am going to be 60 yrs old this coming spring).

My dad passed from small cell lung cancer, 4 days before Christmas 2012/(2013). Then 4 years later I lost my mom to COPD. The next year I lost my kid sister, also to COPD, and then this past April I lost my baby brother to stomach cancer.

I worked at the same company as my mom and dad. I lived with my mom and sister since 1998, so I have spent a great deal of time with my family and I never dreamed they would all pass on before me.

There are some song lyrics that sum up how I feel about it,...it is called "Empty Chairs" by Don McLean

"I wonder if you know, that I never understood, that although you said you'd go until you did, I never thought you would."

I feel lost without my family.

I was close with my sister, the second anniversary of her passing is next week on the 22nd. I was her primary caretaker at the end of life.

Sometimes, I talk out loud to my family...I have no idea what the afterlife is like but I like to think they can hear me.

I am overwhelmed by grief at times and I could use some new friends.

That is all I want to say for now, I am not fully awake yet. LOL Gotta get back to my ☕ .

Hi Wes,

We will be starting a grief support group soon via Zoom. I noticed you said you could use some new friends.  I could use some new friends as well. Perhaps we all could.  I believe Zoom meetings will be a very good option.  Would you be interested?  If so, were days and times would work for you?

Thank you, Jennifer Suero, it means a lot to me to get a reply to my post especially one that is filled with compassion. We should be friends.

Hi, I'm so sorry for your losses. You have resilience, we all have it somewhere in us, we just need a little reminder and little push. I'm preaching to my "lower hurting self". your coffee is a small highlight in your day with HUGE appreciation- this is what I got from your last comment. It is the little things we need to reach for- I get it with all my soul.
