- I am 56 years old, I am married to a wonderful husband. I have a daughter age 17 and a son age 20. I have a job as Peer Specialist which means I support others who have a mental illness with different issues that come up. I like art and theater.
- About my Loss:
- I am both sad and angry. My sister age 54 died of cancer two weeks ago. It's a sad story. I am estranged from my family for abusive reasons. The sadness about this whole thing is I never got to have a sister and we never got to say goodbye. I try so many times to speak to her, but it always would just fizzle out. A friend suggested this website.

Traumatic loss of an only child
I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.
Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide
If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost.
