Hi to all of my OLGS friends. Grief is a long road. I have been doing a lot of reading on how our thoughts trigger brain chemicals which influence our physical feeling and emotional balance. Very amazing stuff. We all grieve differently but we all have the same general bio-processes. Grief is such a threat to our survival. I dont know if we truly recover, or more we learn to incorporate our loss into strength, coping, and remembering with love. I've been told by many people over the years the sting of grief can resurface, although it becomes more manageable. Thinking of you all and wishing comfort! Michael

Thank you Sandy, you're a great friend! I know what you mean, words get kind of silly...Closure sounds like a doorway that needs fixing, and recovery has a post surgery ring to it. In a strange way, grief makes us stronger and wiser, and the suffering part of it is the wound that heals even though it leaves a scar big enough for a bear. I wish wellness and peace in your life.

Hi Michael,

I think we don't "recover", but as you say "we learn to incorporate our loss into strength, coping, and remembering with love."

A friend was talking about closure today (she wants closure from a breakup) and I said that the word has no meaning for me, I don't understand what it is supposed to feel like, but if it meant something to her, that was great.

Does anyone else feel pressure to always reply because you're afraid it'll be the last conversation?

Hi everyone. This is my first post here.I lost my brother in December 2024 to an accidental overdose. He passed away suddenly in his sleep. We were only a year and a half apart in age, and he was the closest person I've ever had.One thing I've been struggling with ever since is that I feel an overwhelming pressure to reply to texts and answer calls as soon as I can. If someone messages me and I don't respond right away, my mind starts thinking, "What if something happens to them before I reply?…See More
