About my Loss:
I lost my mom when I was 8 after nearly two years of dealing with colon cancer. Then my dad remarried within a year to an abusive woman who died two years later. My maternal grandfather, (who I adored than my own dad) died three months later. I’ve lost both my grandmothers since as well as a dear friend who was murdered tragically seven years ago. He died 6 months after my dad died of lung cancer. Grief has been a life-long component. It gets easier to accept the person is gone, but what never goes away is the longing to tell them how you feel. My anger towards my dad started as soon as my mom died, 33 years ago. It has impacted every relationship I’ve had and put me on the path for seeking toxic situations.

Grandma sewing room
