About Me:
I lost a husband of 10 wonderful years to cancer in 2005. I curled up in a fetal ball for a couple of years. Finally, my best friend introduced me to a man whom I fell in love with. We had a year together, and got engaged. Two months later he was diagnosed with mesothelioma and passed soon after (2009). I am overwhelmed with grief. The past 7 yrs have been so difficult. If it weren't for my son I don't know how I would still be here. I am here on this site to find help...and to help others. God Bless us all.
About my Loss:
Losing two husbands (one a fiance) in 4 years is awful. Now my parents are in their 80's. Perhaps my life has helped me to bear losing them? Who knows? All I know is it seems so abysmal sometimes. I love to laugh (my way of keeping sane!!) when times are hard. Would like to maybe help other people and get to know some people that have shared some of the same things. As we all know, "when you grieve, 'friends' leave..." What you have left are the real friends...looking for some true friends that understand. xoxo

moral dilemma

My friend Chris who has been dear to me for 20 yrs has pancreatic cancer.

long story short, he is in denial.

he has told friends that he has a pistol, and would rather take that way than tell his mom or daughter.

to be fair, they have gone through a lot.  Chris's dad just died this past spring from pancreatic cancer. and so did an  uncle and 2 aunts.......

i have watched my husband and a fiance both die horribly.

cancer

so i kind of understand what…

Hopefully I can help win this time.

Kenny, then Ben, and now Chris.  All terminal cancers.  What am I trying to do with Chris?  Not re-live past losses.  Am I trying to win this time to conquer past losses????

I hope that isn't it.

Cause Chris and I have had 20 yrs of friendship....we tried dating a long time ago, but realized we were better friends.  Through all life has been handing us, we have remained close.

Now I am standing by his side. Pancreatic cancer.  I have to question whether I am masochistic,…

Hi,Susan.  I hope I didn't speak 'out of turn'; I didn't mean to say anything inappropriate to you.  I would probably do the same thing in a similar situation.  We all do what we need to do, when we need to do it...

Hang in there.

Cynthia

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.
