About Me:
Suddenly I don't know who I am besides a mother of two. I can't even identify as a widow, I still feel like I'm waiting for Cres to return from a business trip .
About my Loss:
My husband and I were 1st loves in 8th grade. We talked for the next 10yrs and got back together in 92' we were together 30yrs this past Apr. He traveled for a living. On June 10th he flew home from CA. I asked him to meet me at our private club. We left in separate cars. He was approx a mile in front and I lost sight of him on a turn. I got home and he wasn't here. I called repeatedly, after 1½hrs I retraced our route. I found him in a pasture way off the hwy in waist high grass. He was ejected from the car 30-40 yds, & killed instantly. I have this movie playing over in my head. I lost my husband, best friend, and lover in 10min, we were half way home. He must have just wrecked as I passed by I never saw him. It was a miracle that I found him. We live in the country, no street lights or buildings for miles. I caught a reflection out in the field on my first retrace and stopped at the reflection on my second pass. As I crossed the ditch on the other side of a barb wire fence I heard a phone, directly in front of me about 10ft away was his phone lying face up, it was our son calling, I could see "Sammy" and his contact photo. It didn't make sense, why was his phone lying there, it didn't look like his car, and it was facing the wrong direction in relationship to our home. I made my way thru the field and looked through the passenger window, nothing. I thought it was abandoned but why the phone? I walked around to the driver's window and saw his suitcase lying on the steering wheel. I began to scream for him looking all the way around the car 25 ft out, Nothing! I decided to walk N. the direction of our home, behind the rear of the car that's when I found him 30 yards away. He was just lying there, I knew instantly he was dead. We left the club at 9:25pm he died 10min into our 20min drive. He had been laying there since 9:35pm, I found him at 12:20am. My youngest had been out in his car looking for him as well in the opposite direction hoping he drove to town. I wouldn't let him see his father, the deputy held him back. Soon after, the hwy was full with vehicles, coloerd lights and people in reflective vest. Here we are still waiting for him to come home from a work trip. 💔

Does anyone else feel pressure to always reply because you're afraid it'll be the last conversation?

Hi everyone. This is my first post here.I lost my brother in December 2024 to an accidental overdose. He passed away suddenly in his sleep. We were only a year and a half apart in age, and he was the closest person I've ever had.One thing I've been struggling with ever since is that I feel an overwhelming pressure to reply to texts and answer calls as soon as I can. If someone messages me and I don't respond right away, my mind starts thinking, "What if something happens to them before I reply?…See More
