I can't seem to get out of this state of constant sadness. It's an effort just to breathe. I take a lot of deep breaths because it's just so overwhelming that my dear husband of 24 years is gone! I…Continue

How to go on without my husband

I am so lost! I lost my husband just about 2 months ago to Melanoma cancer. We had been married for 24 years, he was my everything! He was my soul mate, best friend, we worked together, we were never apart, and we loved it that way! I miss all the million little cute things in a day, we never grew up, we were like kids playing, leaving cute notes, setting up cute little scenarios with our little beanie babies, just for a laugh! We made life fun together!!! We never were able to have kids, so… Continue

Hi Lauri, I am so very sorry you are on this journey with us.  I lost my husband of 34 years to Melanoma as well, in 2011.  It happened so fast!  I with there were stronger words to offer you than these....  You will get through today, and tomorrow.  One second at a time at times.  You will get used to this new normal that none of us asked for, or prepare for.  Find a way to honor YOUR life each day, just as he would if he were here.  Time does not heal this pain, but it does make it a much more gentle feeling than you are in right now.  Gentle caring hugs from me to you.

Does anyone else feel pressure to always reply because you're afraid it'll be the last conversation?

Hi everyone. This is my first post here.I lost my brother in December 2024 to an accidental overdose. He passed away suddenly in his sleep. We were only a year and a half apart in age, and he was the closest person I've ever had.One thing I've been struggling with ever since is that I feel an overwhelming pressure to reply to texts and answer calls as soon as I can. If someone messages me and I don't respond right away, my mind starts thinking, "What if something happens to them before I reply?…See More
