My brother passed away less then a week ago.  It takes everything I have to go on.  Where do you go from here and are our loved ones really "In a better place" or that just something everyone says to…Continue

About Me:
My brother was diagnosed with Colon cancer that had spread to his liver just two weeks ago.   They did surgery for his colon and he was to follow up with chemo for his liver but died in the hospital after surgery.  We were just trying to get over the shock of learning he had cancer and then he died.  I was very close to my brother.  It takes everything I have to just get out of bed.  Watching my parents crumble is also killing me.  Where do you go from here?  How do you go on living when your world has crumbled.  Need support badly.

Betty or anyone on this list. Tell me where to send it and I will send you either electronically or by snail mail, whichever you prefer, a handout I give to all of my support groups titled "Nine Proven Survival Skills for Coping with Loss & Change." Betty, the most important thing to do now is find someone you trust and won't try to fix you, and talk about what you are feeling. You can get through this devastating loss. Keep telling yourself that very thing. Lou

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
