About Me:
My name is Barbara and I just lost my mother Fri. Sept. 3rd. I took care of my mother for several years and was very very close. She was also my sister in Christ Jesus. I am totally alone now, since I had no children of my own and my brothers are gone. She loved me with all her heart and was my strength and we always prayed together.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, Barbara. Nothing prepares you for the loss of a parent. :( I wish so much that I could reach out and cry with you. It's all I can do to put one foot in front of the other each day. Or get out of bed in the morning. But the best thing about this is that you know where your mom is. You know she is at peace with our Heavenly Father. It hurts us, the ones left behind, but knowing we will see them again is so much more than some people have!

Please know that I am struggling as well. Last night I was in tears as my dad tried to calm me down. I miss my mom. Very much. The only person I talked to when I was this upset about something was my mom. And I can't do that. I can't call her. She won't ever call me again. I miss her. So much.

I pray for both of us, friend.

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression.
