Profile Information

About my Loss:
My Grandfather raised me, along with my single mother and grandmother. Closest thing I knew to a father. I have been savoring him, really savoring him for the past 10 years. He was one of my best friends. Two weeks ago he was a healthy active 92 year old, then boom, seizure, brain tumor, stage 3 brain cancer, a brain bleed, gone a week later. Spending that week with him caring for him in hospice was an absolute treasure and I am so grateful for that time. No matter how much beautiful time our family had with him, it still feels like a punch in the stomach with him gone. I am navigating my numbness while also trying to support my 89 year young Grandmother from another state with her transition of losing her husband of 71 years. They were inseparable. I have been in quarantine for a week alone and while I think that rest was needed, I’m ready to talk, listen, spend some time in a community of grief.

May we welcome all of our feelings as we grieve.
May we allow grief to soften and strengthen our hearts.
May we hold our sorrow with tenderness and compassion.

Grandma sewing room

So I am almost done with cleaning my grandmas sewing room that wasn’t touched in 10 years because of all the mess, but now that she passed away 2 days ago, I don’t know if I should continue, I wanna finish what I started but I don’t know what to do, my grandpa is still alive and I don’t want to leave this burden on him.See More
