Brooke Scalise Was 12 Yrs Old And Fell From A 260 Ft Cliff In Costa Rica While On Our Family Vacation

My name is Jennifer Scalise.  My daughter lost her life on July 13, 2009 while we were on a family vacation.  We were on a half day excursion with another family.  It was a perfect day up until the ride back to the resort.  The tour guides took us up a very steep and dangerous hill, no guardrails, no warnings.  My daughter missed a 90 degree turn and drove her ATV off a 260 ft cliff.  I thought my life ended on that day.  2 years later and although it still saddens me deeply, I have a new found peace in understanding that their is a thin veil between this life and the next.  My daughter left behind so many wonderful treasures for me, it's as if her soul new she was leaving this earth at an early age.  She had an amazing faith and was quite the inspiration to many.  I have learned so much from her since she's been gone.  I had to tell the story, as it's full of hope for anyone who has lost a loved one.  I was blessed with the opportunity to publish a book entitled "A Mother's Journey of Love, Loss & Life Beyond" last month.  Many people are reading my story and finding so much comfort, peace and hope... this is so humbling and my dreams for Brooke's story.  Please visit www.jenniferscaliseauthor.com to learn more about Brooke's life and the bundle of hope that she is offering to so many today.  Our loved one's memories will be etched in our hearts forever.  Death doesn't separate us from our loved ones really.  My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.
