I find myself writing down quotes that I hear from different people, or read in a book or magazine... and I finally started writing them down on index cards that I keep taped to the back of my front door... now every time I leave the house, I'm reminded that I'm not alone in this process, and that there are other ways of viewing the challenges I face...

Here are a few I found:

"I've made mistakes in my life, I've let people take advantage of me, and I've accepted way less than I deserve; But I've learned from my bad choices, and even thought there are some things I can never get back, and people who will never be sorry, I'll know better next time, and I won't settle for anything less than I deserve."

"You shed tears the he is gone, or You can smile because he has lived, You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back, or You can open your eyes, and see all that he's left."

"It is healthy and honorable to weep at the loss of someone we love. Healthy because such passion must be released. Honorable because it is respectful to admit the importance of people who have loved and supported us... people whose footprints cannot ever be matched."

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I have been through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." You must do the thing you think you cannot do."

"Sometimes when you need to hit that lowest point of being sad, the point where you can't take it anymore, and you completely lose yourself, to finally get back up on your feet again, without fear, there would be no accomplishment, no testing of our limitations."

"When people walk away from you, let them go... Your destiny will never be tied to anyone who leaves you, and it doesn't mean that they're bad people... It just means that their part, in your story is over."

"Without belittling the courage with which men have died, we should not forget those acts of courage with which men have lived... The courage of life is often a less dramatic spectacle than the courage of a final moment, but it is not less significant than a magnificent mixture of triumph and tragedy."

My mom died 4 months ago

She died from lung disease. Ironic.I was fine at the funeral. Planning. Talking to everyone. I thought u handled it great. Now 4 months later, I’m a mess. Some days I’m perfectly fine, but others I can’t walk down the street without crying. I keep thinking that I haven’t talked to her in a while & I…See More
