About Me:
I have 2 grown daughters both married, One had a baby boy in Oct. my other daughter is due in June. I am blessed with a wonderful family. I am a veterinary technician . I love to read and knit. I have a 5yr old English Springer Spaniel who has helped me through many rough times.
About my Loss:
In Feb 2011 my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He started intense chemo treatments for 12 weeks. Then scans looked great in July. Spots in his liver were gone. They couldn't see the tumor in his colon anymore. We were so excited. He had 2 good months then they did sx to remove where the tumor was. They found a spot on his kidney. Two months after the first sx he had his kidney removed and his colon sx reversed. In suffered for 6 months until March 2012 he opted for a colostomy. The pain from the reversal was too much. Again he had 1 good month the he got a back ache . Blood counts started to rise. Back on chemo for almost a year. Then at that point we were told they are trying to maintain it. Aug. 12 2013 he went into the hosp from so much back pain. He never came home. He passed away on Aug. 29th

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.
