It's been almost a week since i lost my wife to lung disease. She's in my mind 24/7. I don't have anybody else to talk too. I was carred by emotional and physical abuse mostly in my childhood in adoption homes and it took her 23 years for me to love her the way I did. She understood every aspect of my life and she was there for me. I'm from Canada and I live in Florida and she was the only friend i have here. I have dreams about her. I miss her so much

I'm very sorry for your loss and hope you can find some comfort in talking to others here.  I have found there are many who say things that describe exactly how I feel.  It has made me feel I'm not alone.

Kyle, I am also very sorry for your loss. You are just beginning the grief process the rest of us are working thru. I remember being totally numb after my husband died. A massive hole in my chest that no one else could see. You mentioned not having friends there...any family? Somehow you need a support system. This site is great to use as a sounding board . We're all here for the same reason--we've lost someone very special to us. We all have different stories, different feelings and different ways of dealing with that loss. Hopefully you will find help here the way we did.

thank you sweetie its hard

I'm so sorry Kyle for your loss. You will find that others here have gone through (or are currently going through) what you are going through, and although it might feel like you are alone, you are not alone.

kyle. im sorry for your loss. i too lost my spouse do to lung disease a month ago and it is very devasting. he was my life. so i know what your going threw and to lose someone and to see them suffer and there is nothing you can do about it is heartbreaking. i had to take him off life support and watch him pass away. life without him is unbearable. so i understand

Hi Kyle

Im so sorry for your loss and the pain your going though.

its hard at the start, especially if you don't feel you have any one to talk to.

you have a sympathetic ear in here any time you need / wish to talk, i know its not the same as verbally talking.

my only suggestion is be kind to yourself try and eat well and get some sleep.  i know some times it can be feel overwhelming and crushing.

every one in here is cheering for you.

regards Monty

Kyle...you may consider joining "GriefShare"...you can find a GriefShare group in your area by visiting the following site and entering your zip code...I found it very helpful... www.griefshare.org ... Blessings.

Okay thank you Richard - I'll check it out

Hadn't heard of this organization before -- does GriefShare have any specific religious or philosophical approach?  Is it worldwide or only in the U.S.A.?

Hi in looking into https://www.griefshare.org

it appears to be a US Church based support groups.

thanks for the info though

Thanks Monty for the info -- shame on me, ought to have looked for myself.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.
