- came home from work one day about 3 weeks ago and found boyfriend dead in our firepit in the back yard. apparently he had a heart attack and died before the fire got him.

Traumatic loss of an only child
I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

I am sorry about your loss. I too came home to find my boyfriend/fiance dead on April 27, 2012. It is something I do not wish on anyone. You asked if it gets easier. I am not sure easier is the word. I think maybe things will be more bearable. Everyone grieves so differently. I am still trying to make sense out of all of this. What I am learning it to be kind to myself and take care of myself during this time. And if I need a day or more than a day to stay home and cry and think of him.... I do just that. I am trying to let all the feelings just be and come out.
I hope this gives you some kind of comfort. I am glad you found this site... use it as much as you need to. :)
