About Me:
I am 58yrs old and have 3 adults sons. We are currently staying with our youngest son and his wife since last year because of my Husband's illnesses. We were planning on going back to Nevada the first week of Oct. 2016. Just trying to figure out my life alone now.
About my Loss:
My Husband was my world. Last year he had a minor stroke and some other issues. March of this year Frank was diagnosed with Lung Cancer and finished his first round of treatments 8/26/16. I took him in to his Oncologist in Sept.14 and asked her to listen to his chest because our kids had been sick. She heard crackling in the lungs but refused to put him on anything until the 28th. He went to the hospital 10/03 and was discharged 10/18 after being on the Ventilator in ICU the whole time because of severe pneumonia. The surgeon before said he had 5yrs because of the cancer. The Drs. in the hospital said he should have been treated sooner and wasn't. He came home on oxygen and other things because the hospital had said there was nothing else that they could do for him. He was getting worse. Hospice was called in on 11/03/16 and by Sunday, Nov 6th my Husband was gone. We were looking ahead for the next five years and had so many plans. He was taken early because someone refused putting him on antibiotics or getting a CT sooner. I am lost without Frank. I cry everyday and my heart is broken. We were married almost 18 years and he was the love of my life. Its been 3 weeks today since my Frank left me. I am just empty. Not looking forward to Christmas as all or any other holidays for awhile. I understand with everyone on here how the loss of your spouse hurts so much. I know we all have to grieve, it just hurts so much. My thoughts are with everyone who has lost someone in their lives.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward.Β https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
