About Me:
I am a fun, loving, outgoing person who tries to see the brighter side of every situation. I find the good in everyone and never meet a stranger. My family is my world. Since losing my father, I have lost myself. I am currently working on getting back on the path to myself.
About my Loss:
I lost my father late September in 2014. We found out the first week of August 2014 that he had stage 4 lung cancer. On September 20, I received a call after practice stating that I may need to come home. That Sunday, we were told dad would not make it through the night. Monday morning he was still holding on but the doctors gave him just hours. By 7:48 pm on September 22, my father joined the angels in heaven and my world was flipped upside down.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Today is your birthday daddy, and it's been kind of hard. I went to my internship, glued a smile on my face, and made myself get through the day. Now I'm sitting in my dorm room, and I can't help but miss you. And now so much has come to the surface, once again life has taken a 180. Daddy, I have so many questions and I have so many things I need to know, but you are the only one who could truly answer them, and you are the one who isn't here. Everyone said that death would bring out the…

That Weekend

My dad was diagnosed just a week after my 21st birthday and just three days before i was scheduled to move back to for my senior year of college that was 2 hours away from home. I was more than ready to take a semester off to help around the house and with my father. We were told that it was stage 4 lung cancer, that was highly aggressive and had already metastasized. We were told he would have maybe 2 years but that it was unbeatable. That entire weekend we argued back and forth but my…

I saw the comment you left on "Has Your Faith Been Tested" group. I am so sorry about the loss of your Dad. I have also read the story of your daddy's last few days. Maybe its the mother in me or simply heartfelt compassion, but your story seriously touched my heart. I could feel your pain and your heartbreak.

How are you today? Your lat post is from April 2015, i hope you check in and read this.

I am 64 years old and I would like to be your friend. I will listen anytime you want to talk or write. You are stronger than you think. . .

Brenda, your friend

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.
