in the beginning...

I apologize already: this will be a boring post. I just want to put down a little history, mostly to help me keep things straight in my mind.

My husband died almost three years ago. He was really much too young to die and I was much too young to become a widow but there is usually not too much you can do about these things. My mother-in-law has been a widow for a long time and has many widow-friends and she says that in her experience, three years is kind of a magic number for adjusting to your Changed Life after losing your partner. Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.
