58 year old orphan
About my Loss:
My mom passed 2 years ago in February, and my dad just a year ago August. I'm an only child so family is now gone on my side. My wife's family is awesome so I'm not alone per se.

Bottom line is I got to spend the last 4 of the last six hours that my dad had on this planet with him. That was a gift. He was not ill. 80, but generally good. I stopped by that late afternoon, had a glass of wine and talked. Left about 8 and at 10 the police rescue called.

He was really scared of going into assisted living, which was starting to come up. He bypassed that all. And since none of us get out of this alive anyway, I'm really glad for him that he didn't have to go through all that.

Both my mom and dad were great parents and man we had a lot of fun. It's not done. Here it is but I know better. I miss them both terribly but the memories really are forever.
