About Me:
I am a single professional in SE Florida. Luckily, I have the best boss in the world. I've taken the last 2 months off to care for my mother with terminal cancer. She passed away 3 weeks ago. I go back to work Monday. I've been looking for local support groups, but they all meet during the day, which sucks for those or us that work.
About my Loss:
My mother died of small cell lung cancer (the kind you get from smoking, which has no cure). It was so hard to be there at the end. She must have had at least 1 stroke, so we couldn't tell if she was hearing us or not. Luckily, she had a LTC policy, which also provided personal care to her. We had hospice also. I say "we", because my sister came down a lot, from out of state, to help both of us. How do you get the pictures out of your mind of the sick person at the end and only remember the good parts? It's really difficult since I've been there 24/7. I had a memorial service for her 2 nights ago, and a great friend of hers spoke about how nice and gentle I was to my mother, gently stroking her face, etc.
That's all I can picture right now.

Grandma sewing room

So I am almost done with cleaning my grandmas sewing room that wasn’t touched in 10 years because of all the mess, but now that she passed away 2 days ago, I don’t know if I should continue, I wanna finish what I started but I don’t know what to do, my grandpa is still alive and I don’t want to leave this burden on him.See More
