This is the first long weekend I have had to myself since my husband passed away in February of this year.  Usually, I have ball tournaments with my daughter, or my son has a sporting event.  Since I…Continue

Glad to be friends on here now and look forward to communicating with you.  I don't know much about this site, either, but come on and read posts and blogs and find it helpful in some way.  Hope you're having as good a week as possible.  After my difficult weekend, I'm feeling a bit better - but felt on the verge of a panic attack for a good part of today...don't know exactly why but these things happen from time to time and I'm learning to roll with it for the most part.  Overall, however, I feel like I'm doing a little better all the time and that's encouraging to me.  I hope the same will be true for you.  Take care.  Bests, Lynne

Hi Donna, I too am a pediatric nurse, have 2 teenagers at home, one of which is graduating this June and lost my husband of 29 years  jan29 of this year and feel we have a lot in common and can truly relate. I also live near you and have only recently joined this site looking for support. Hearing from others helps me feel not so alone. I have some close friends but feel I'm overburdening them with my grief, which  they probably don't understand seeing none of them have lost their life companions. I usually speak with them on better days as on the bad days I don't want to talk to anyone. Hopefully  we can help each other on those days.

Welcome to this site and wish that it was under very different circumstances, of course.  Hopefully, you will find some comfort and understanding here.  I left a comment on your discussion about long weekends, btw.  Bests, L.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
