About Me:
My name is Charlene, I work in the medical field, and I recently lost, the love of my life unexpectedly, I miss him so much...
About my Loss:
My husbands name is Nicholas.. AKA Payaso, he is 32, and was a very strong, but stubborn man. We have been married 12 years as of Feb. 14th 2011. About August Nick started gaining weight, but only in the mid-section of his body, he ate right weight lifted, and was active. I n Sept he started feeling fatigued, tired all the time, no energy, I told him we needed to go to the doctor, but he refused. I HATE DOCTORS, he said, I'll be ok. Later that month his mouth turned white, along with his tongue, which swelled badly, it was almost like thrush. This lasted a few weeks, and again he refused to go to the Doctor. Oct, he began getting weird stomach, well pains in his mid-section, cramps, and discomfort, his back started hurting alot, and he still continued to gain weight, again his tonue and mouth turened white for about a week. Nov. and Dec, it was hard for him to eat at time, it was like he had gurd, anything and everything gave hime heart burn and acid reflux, the fatigue was getting worse, all he did was sleep. The last week of Dec, he began throwing up, it was black and like coffee grounds, every day smelling food, trying to eat, or seeing food made him sick. he was so thirsty that he drank everything he seen. A month before I started notice signs of diabetes. He was urinating every hour or more, he had a strange taste, and again his tongue was so swollen he barely could talk, he continued to refuse treatment, this was on going for months. On Dec. 31st he was disorientated, very confused, and ccouldn't focus, his vision was getting worse from the month before. H e passed out about 830, that night, I called 911, and they got here fast, he began to fightm, but gave in.. His blood glucose was 500, and bp was 205/111. I got to the hospital 20 minutes after nim , and he was already in critical condition. Jan. 1st, I got off work, and went to the hospital, and they began telling me what was going on, they asked to to step out the room so we could talk, and he coded on me, it took them 20 minutes to get his heart started. when he coded his bg was 800, hr was 160 bp was very low, resp were 50. H e was then put on life support. He was diagnosed with diabetes, acute pancreatitis, swollen liver, hypothyroidizum. They began treating him for all his issues, On Jan 3rd he went into renal failure, and they put him on 24hr dialasis his body was not reacting to any of the treatment, they then did a plasma freeze which seemed to bring a little hope, but the next day levels fell again. On Jan. 6th Kidneys still weren't working, they took him off the sedation and pain meds to see about brain function, he did the usual things like moved his arms, and wrinkled his nose. On Jan 8th the doctor did some test to see about brain function, he couldn't fit in the MRI, or catscan, so they had to do manual things, and there was no response. he'd open his eyes, but there was no life. he wouldn;t move his eyes to look at you, and no rem when he slept. This was the worse day of my life, I had to take him off life support. The hardest thing i ever done.

I am so sorry for your loss...The doctors told us that we needed to make a decision about life support and we did it as a family but my mom's mom had the final word, but in the end we decided to keep my mom on life support until her heart quit functioning or her brain did and luckily 2 days after we made that decision, my mom's heart gave out. I knew she was already gone and that the machines were keeping her alive and I knew that she did not want that. So, I kinda know the pain you are going through, not exactly but I can relate...it is a hard decision but luckily I was only 17 at the time and I couldn't make the final decision on it, it would have been hard knowing what my mom has always told me that if a machine is keeping her alive then let her go, but she was only 37 years old at the time. The pain is hard even to this day 17 years later.

Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary, and it's hurting so much.  Barely a month has gone by since I lost my boo, I don't want to work, I don't want to go outside, I just stay in my room.  I'm so lost and empty, that I feel I have no life left to give.  I deal with dealth all the time, but it sure is different when it comes to your own.  I have twin sons 24, not from my husband, he was…

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
