About Me:
I am a 47 year old married mother of two teenage boys. I am also a survivor of advanced Colon Cancer.....10 years now! But I have been left with many other health issues because of my fight and the underlying genetic disease I have that caused all of this in the first place!
I am a musician and studied music education in college although I do not teach because of health situation. I enjoy playing flute, handbells, singing, writing and am TRYING to take up guitar. Very active in my church's music department.
About my Loss:
My loss is unusual and I have only just come to the point that I will 'allow' myself to grieve. I met the my first love over twenty years ago. We dated seriously about a year but kept finding ourselves together again after our breakup. We went our separate ways finally and I met my husband two years later and we have been married for 17 years now. I am not saying I don't love my husband. I do. Very much so. But this past relationship was never really 'closed'. I found out a year ago that my first love had passed away a whole year before from sudden illness......I was floored and hit with so many deep and unexpected feelings of grief and sadness. I could not publicly acknowledge this huge loss because I felt 'silly' for grieving something from so long ago. I did of course tell my husband of his passing, but not how deeply I am grieving the death of my first love. I am ready now to acknowledge my feelings and allow myself to grieve my loss. It is so hard to deal with the loss all alone.

Grandma sewing room

So I am almost done with cleaning my grandmas sewing room that wasn’t touched in 10 years because of all the mess, but now that she passed away 2 days ago, I don’t know if I should continue, I wanna finish what I started but I don’t know what to do, my grandpa is still alive and I don’t want to leave this burden on him.See More
