About Me:
42 years old. Mother of two, daughter 22 and son 19. One grandson, 5 months old. Work at a hospital.
About my Loss:
My husband of 16 years had been an alcoholic pretty much his whole life. He would have sober periods which were absolutely wonderful for us as a family. Alcohol always found its way back in. Last Labor Day 2012 he was hospitalized with liver failure and told he could NEVER drink again. He got sober, exercised and things were really wonderful for us. In April, the drinking came back. July 8 I started a wonderful new job at a hospital. We were going to have more money and benefits than we'd ever had before. He promised he'd quit drinking and our lives would be wonderful again. I had to leave for training out of town on July 15 (3 hours away). He was so bloated and swollen he could barely walk anymore. He was bad. I talked to my friends in the weeks prior that this was going to kill him but I never really believed it, he always got better. When I left that Monday, I had a feeling in the pit of my stomach that I'd never see him alive again. I cried all the way up the road. Tuesday night my son called and said my beloved husband had fallen in the floor and could not get up, then collapsed and stopped breathing. I immediately left for home. This was 7pm. He was pronounced dead at 8:47pm. I had to drive home knowing my love was dead. Worst day of my life. Seems like a blur, I don't know how I made it to the hospital. They let me see him. He was already cold. I just fell apart.

Grandma sewing room

So I am almost done with cleaning my grandmas sewing room that wasn’t touched in 10 years because of all the mess, but now that she passed away 2 days ago, I don’t know if I should continue, I wanna finish what I started but I don’t know what to do, my grandpa is still alive and I don’t want to leave this burden on him.See More
