About Me:
I am 52 years old and have been married to my husband for 28 years (together for 34 years) and together we have a 23 year old son.
About my Loss:
My Mom had been battling MS for over 30 years and that last couple of years she ended up in and out of the hospital with infections, each time coming out of the hospital just that much weaker. At the end of April she suffered a stroke that took her left side and her speech. The MS had already taken her right sign so she virtually couldn't move. She maintained her sense of humor right to the end, that's just the way she was. She had a directive that there was to be no feeding tube and we all understood this. The only concern was that there be no pain - and there was none - just the discomfort from not being able to move. On June 5th of this year, Mom's battle ended and I have not been the same. She passed on the day before my birthday so every year now I will be reminded of this. I battle MS myself and this has all hit me so hard physically but even more emotionally. I find myself crying a lot with a pain in my chest that I have never experienced before. I find that whenever I talk about her, I instantly get a stomach ache and the pain in my chest starts again. I know that with time it will get easier to copy but right now, I just don't see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Does anyone else feel pressure to always reply because you're afraid it'll be the last conversation?

Hi everyone. This is my first post here.I lost my brother in December 2024 to an accidental overdose. He passed away suddenly in his sleep. We were only a year and a half apart in age, and he was the closest person I've ever had.One thing I've been struggling with ever since is that I feel an overwhelming pressure to reply to texts and answer calls as soon as I can. If someone messages me and I don't respond right away, my mind starts thinking, "What if something happens to them before I reply?…See More
