About Me:
I have been married for 9 years and we have 3 children 2 girls and 1 boy. Their ages are 5, 8 and 15.
About my Loss:
My dad was diagnosed with Stage IV NSCLC back in April. His cancer had metastasized but was contained in his lung. However, with many years of smoking (smoke free for almost 20 years), working in a coal mine and being a welder it finally caught up to him. The chemo just started taking a toll on his body. He passed on Thanksgiving. Even though we knew the outcome we all thought because his tumor was shrinking we would go into remission. The day before Thanksgiving they went to the hospital to receive O2 and possibly a blood transfusion. The doctors listened to his lungs, did a CT scan, gave him some O2 and sent him on his way. He was ok with the thought of being on O2 but that day he was not given an O2 tank. I am guessing it takes a couple days? His health was declining and no one knew but maybe dad. He wouldn't want any of us to know so we wouldn't worry. Thanksgiving Day mom and dad went to the hospital again thinking O2 and a blood transfusion and be on their way. That was not the case. Everything started to go wrong...he was told he had pneumonia, his organs started to shut down and he suffered a heart attack. My mom was there by herself during all of this because it all happened so quickly. Again, none of us expected the outcome. We were able to say our goodbyes and tell ourselves that he could hear us. We know he could, he moved when they wheeled him up to ICU. Even though my sister and my life has gotten back to normal, my mom's hasn't. She has to find her new normal. I am having such a hard time accepting that. She comments all the time about not having anything to do. I know she is lonely and sad. I talk to her every single day multiple times throughout the day. I think it's starting to affect my marriage a little bit but I think it's something that I need to help me get through the grieving process. I know my mom is a strong lady and she also has wonderful support group. I just need some advice. Maybe I am talking to my mom to much?

Does anyone else feel pressure to always reply because you're afraid it'll be the last conversation?
