About Me:
53. Live in Massachusetts. I am a software executive. I was watching an HBO program "one last hug" about camps for grieving children. I started crying like I never have and realized that it was time I finally dealt with mine.
About my Loss:
Not sure what I am supposed to say

By age the age of 9 i was watching my father waste away from heart disease. He had several trips to the hospital and finally passed when I was 11.

2 years later the brother who stepped in was killed in a military B52 crash in Michigan.

During that time my grandmother moved in and after a few years passed away.

My other brother who was much older than me died several years later of heart disease in a hotel room while travelling

Pretty much every year someone in my family died. I attended more funerals than birthday parties as a child.

In my family you didn't talk about it. We used "humor". The day I lost my brother my mother checked out and by age 13 became the child of an alcoholic and subsequently used substances to cover my pain. I've been sober for 13 years.

To this day, the smell of certain flowers takes me back to all the funeral homes.

My mom died 4 months ago

My mom had pulmonary fibrosis. She was sick for a few years. It was funny how when my grandmother smoked, my mom would always say-I’m gonna die from second hand smoke. My mom never smoked. She died from lung disease. Ironic.I was fine at the funeral. Planning. Talking to everyone. I thought u handled it great. Now 4 months later, I’m a mess. Some days I’m perfectly fine, but others I can’t walk down the street without crying. I keep thinking that I haven’t talked to her in a while & I…See More
