- My husband suffered cardiac arrest at home back in September 2017. He was doing good in his rehab. I received that dreadful call this morning from the nursing home he passed away in his sleep. We went to see him on Tuesday he was improving.He was only 58 years old. It has been very stressful. Back in July we had to put our 12 year old golden retriever to sleep unexpectedly. And now my husband passed away Wednesday December 6, 2017
