About Me:
Work in behavioral health care. Live in Coastal SE of USA. Pregnant at 15, had beautiful daughter at 16 (married too). After divorce, went to college through Master's.
She completed a BS and was in grad school far way, but close to my family.I spent the weekend before she died with her -- a delight is a weekend with an adult daughter. Am Catholic by choice and find the rituals and supports helped a lot early on. Still it helps, especially with a good priest who recommends good reading.
About my Loss:
She died in her sleep on December 11, 2004. Coroners and forensic experts found no cause of death, possibly Long QT syndrome. Her death reduced to "unknown etiology, probable cardiac involvement." She was in NM in school when I got the call that turned my world upside down. This year is looming as the tenth..anniversary (that is a wrong word) observance?, death date Dec. 11, birthday follows on 20th, then Christmas and New year. Slight reprieve to rebirth of Easter then Mother's Day. A litany of hard days aheadl

No, I don't treat adults with grief, it is still too painful for me. As a care provider I can't imagine trying to help someone without knowing the depth and torn out heart of a life ended too early.

Grandma sewing room

So I am almost done with cleaning my grandmas sewing room that wasn’t touched in 10 years because of all the mess, but now that she passed away 2 days ago, I don’t know if I should continue, I wanna finish what I started but I don’t know what to do, my grandpa is still alive and I don’t want to leave this burden on him.See More
