About Me:
I`m 44 years old. I`m the oldest of three children. My Mom is 64 and actively dying of Lung cancer. My Father passed away 8 years ago of lung cancer. I am a registered nurse.
About my Loss:
My Mom was never a easy person to Love or get along with. She has always been very moody, nervous, manipulative,controlling and quick to anger. As a child she was even abusive to my brothers and I. Now, that she is very ill, the behaviors are even more pronounced as she goes through these stages of death and dying. It makes taking care of her a BIG and difficult task. Even more so, than if she were a sweet,kind and loving Mother. To make things worse. My brothers see none of this. The only see good things and have forgotten the bad. Especially my brother that bore the brunt of her anger when we were growing up. He has also inherited a lot of her anger and moodiness. As, we try together as a family to take care of our Mother. I see the whole truth{ the good.bad and the ugly}. I am trying not to resent my brothers and get along with difficult people. My youngest brother is the peace keeper. But, he seems to keep peace by, ignoring pressing issues or maintaining silence. I am more vocal. I feel like a jerk for feeling this way and have actually been told I am a jerk by my brother . I can`t do anything but, cry all the time and I don`t say anything of any importance to my brothers regarding my Mother for fear of a big fall out . It sounds horrible but, I will be so glad when all of this is over!
