About Me:
I'm 52 and I had 2 sons. I live alone, but with 12 cats! I love them all so much. I'm disabled with MS, seizures, diabetes and sleep apnea. So I pretty much live on my computer.
About my Loss:
My son, Ron, was 27 when on a crisp October moring he and his co-worker were heading to work up in Wyoming. Ron was the passenger and Bruce the driver. The police think that Bruce fell asleep briefly and went off the right side of the road and when he came back on the road they hit a guard rail right in front of the passenger seat. Ron was killed instantly and left behind a wife and my 2 precious grandchildren. This occurred on Oct. 23, 2007

God, Ron and Me

I wrote this poem about a week ago with help from God.

When I heard about you son

My devestation was immense

How would I ever live without you

The thought was too intense

I remember when I was pregnant

And thrilled but nervous too

I remember every day

Just waiting to meet you

I remember dreaming of the future

What would you grow up to be

If only I could tell you

How…

I live in Kentucky. I couldn't believe that he died on your birthday!
Your son's pictures reminded me so much of my son. They were the same age. We are also the same age. It is so hard to go on. I also have one other son he is the reason I go on. He's my oldest son 33. After Clint died; my oldest told me he needed me; now he is my rock along with my husband who was Clint's step dad.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
