About Me:
I am a 54 year old widow who lost my husband nearly 14 months ago. January 2, 2012 Pat passed away and left me, like so many others, feeling lost, alone, and fearful.
About my Loss:
Pat had just turned 60 years old. He was healthy and in great physical condition. We had been married almost 31 years and he was the love of my life. Pat passed away just nine weeks after his first symptom. The disease that took him is Cruetzfeldt Jakob Disease of the sporadic form which is a rare, fatal, deginerative brain disease that strikes 1 in 1 million. "Sporadic" in this case simply means they don't know what causes it. You have probably heard of the the varient form which is Mad Cow, caused by consumption of diseased meat.
