About Me:
I am 49 years old. I have worked in a school system for over 30 years. My husband and I both are from the same small town and have lived there all our lives.
About my Loss:
I married my best friend on Sept. 22nd, 1984. We met when I joined a fire dept. cadet program and he was the training officer. As time progressed we became best friends in spite of the 12 year age difference. We knew we wanted to spend our life together from our first real date in June of 1983. We were not able to have children but that didn't matter because we were so happy together that nothing else mattered. Through the years we had disappointments, job loss, death of parents and grandparents and some financial setbacks. Even through these things we were madly in love, supportive of each other and considered ourselves to be on a constant honeymoon. On Sunday, Feb. 16th, 2014 Eddie didn't feel good. He stayed home from work on Monday the 17th and on Tuesday the 18th he went to the doctor. She told him that he was in about day 5 of a 14 day upper respiratory virus and that he would feel worse before he felt better, that he would run a low grade fever, and that he would just have to let it runs its course. She gave him cough syrup and an inhaler. He felt bad the rest of the week and early on Friday morning he collapsed at home. I got him to the emergency room and they said he had a heart rate of 248 and his lungs were completely white. They put him in ICU. The following Tues. they finally confirmed that he had Legionaries Disease. They believed at that point that he could be saved. However, his body had become septic and that sent his heart into Afib. On Saturday he threw a clot from the heparin they put him on and he suffered a massive stroke. He passed away at 9:01am, March 3, 2014. The love of my life, and my life, ended that cold morning.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More
