About Me:
I am a 16 year old living in California. I been having trouble and need some support.
About my Loss:
On November 5, 2016 my mom, Megan Lum, was affected by a brain bleed caused by AVM( Arteriovenous Malformation). In the back of her bran, between the brainstem and the cerebbelum, a blood vessel popped. She was at my twin sister's volleyball game, and it popped. She was fine until after the game. Once the game was over, my mom said that she was getting a little headache. For my mom, headaches were a typical thing. My family, drove to a restaurant, where my started to throw up due to nausea. I got my mom a bag and we left. On our way home, my mom suddenly said to go to the Emergency Room. This was weird for our whole family because she never ever complains about the pain that she is going through. Therefore she must be in so much pain and she cannot handle it no more. At the Emergency Room, I ran to get the wheelchair for my mom. She sat down and I wheeled her to the nurse. During this time, my mom was still beginning to throw up. My dad was checkingmy mom in and he ordered me to get another bag for my mom which was located in the car. I ran to the car to get her a bag, unaware that, that moment was the last time I was ever going to see my mom eyes open again. Once I got back, my mom was already wheeled into the Emergency Room. My dad, sister and I were all so scared and we did not know what to do. After an hour or so, the nurse called in my dad, leaving my sister and I in the waiting room. After a couple of hours, around 12:30am, my dad went to us and told us the bad news. He told us that my mom was now in a hemmorage coma and she had went unconscious 30 minutes after she went in. He said that there was a brain bleed in the back of her brain and they have to transfer her to another hospital. As I walked to see my mom, intubated, I was shocked more than anything. I could not move, and that is one thing I completely regret.I watched as they moved my mom to another hospital. We ran to the other hospital, which was like ten minutes away and checked to see my mom. For hours, the nurses would not let any of us into the room because they were running tests and scans on my mom to make sure she is ok. Once they told us we can come in, we got the worse news. The pooped blood vesseel that occured was in the most difficult area to get to and they could not operate on her. They just could not do anything. Therefore, my mom could not be helped. I cried and cried. I talked to her and I wanted to apologize for all the things that I did to cause frustrationa and anger. Als, how much I love her and how much I appreciate her forever. Throughout the week, my mom was on life support. On November 7,2016 my sister and I both spent our sweet 16 birhtday withthe woman that we always will love and cherish. Over the next few days, we all decided to take her off the machine, due to the pain she was going through. On November 13, 2016 my mom, Megan Lum passed away and I will forever cherish her memories.
