About Me:
My name is Rick, I’m a 54 year old father of 4, my 2nd daughter Kelsey past away in a tragic drowning accident on June 15, 1993. Also I’m a step father of 3 additional children that came into our family when I married their mother October 16, 2003, I’m a proud grandfather of 6 children. I spent 4 years in the US Air Force, worked for Lockheed, came home to Ohio and was self employed for over 18 years. After Kelsey died in 1993 I went through so much and I just lost my way. Losing a child is one of the hardest things to live through. Grief can get the better of you and take over, I would say that is what was going on in my life. I had two more children after losing Kelsey, 3 years after our youngest was born my marriage fell apart as did my business, other jobs and just about all parts of my life. If it wasn’t for my surviving children I don’t even know where I would be. I had been part of many grief groups this was before the internet was what it is today, I have started to reach out to help others again as I know all to well what grief can do to a person if you don't take the time to heal.
About my Loss:
My 2nd daughter Kelsey was in the care of our baby sitter and I had dropped her off at the city pool that day so she could be with her older sister. Within 45 minutes I had received a phone call to go to the hospital as they had found her floating face down in the big pool. They then sent her by care flight to Children's in Columbus Ohio, By the time that I had got there she was gone. This was 22 years ago on June 15, 1993. She was 3 and her birthday is July 3 rd. It has been a very long road over 22 years

Grandma sewing room

So I am almost done with cleaning my grandmas sewing room that wasn’t touched in 10 years because of all the mess, but now that she passed away 2 days ago, I don’t know if I should continue, I wanna finish what I started but I don’t know what to do, my grandpa is still alive and I don’t want to leave this burden on him.See More
