- I’m an educator and mom to five young adults.
- About my Loss:
- I lost my husband 10 months ago after a downward spiral of alcohol abuse and prescription pain medication. He never showed signs of addiction other than overeating and was not attracted to alcohol until he had gastric bypass surgery in 2002. After that it was a slow decline for a number of years, not truly problematic until around 2012. We had to live apart for 21 months before his death because of the impact it was having on the kids and myself. We went through horrific experiences this past year, and are just really beginning to grieve in the normal sense. Up until his addiction he was a successful man and a wonderful husband and father.

Hi everyone. This is my first post here.I lost my brother in December 2024 to an accidental overdose. He passed away suddenly in his sleep.
