About Me:
I'm a 51 year old woman trying to make sense of life without my soulmate by my side. It's been a year now, and I'm doing better, but still don't feel any joy in life. I left our home, quit my job and moved across the state to return to school to become a nurse. I know we're not supposed to make major life decisions in the first year of loss, but I'm doing this FOR Damon and in his honor. It feels right.
About my Loss:
I lost the love of my life, Damon Ortega, one year ago. It was very sudden and unexpected and I never thought I'd make it through this first year. He was 50 years old, very healthy and vital, but had a brain aneurysm that he was unaware of. He collapsed in my arms, remained in a coma for two days and took his last breath in my arms as well.
